Summary of the opening speech of the first international accounting conference after 64 years The fear of falling will prevent a broad and comprehensive view The scientific secretary of the conference Mr. Naser partovi, the scientific secretary of the conference, emphasized on the ability of Iranians in accounting and auditing, and the need of it to be shown to the world. Then said the ship is much safer in the coast, but it has not been built to stay there …, the world has to believe our abilities, the fear of falling will prevent a broad and comprehensive view. The scientific secretary of the international accounting conference in IRAN referred to the activities of the accounting association and said we have achieved all our goals in our five years of activity. Mr. Partovi added that this year the field of accounting will have great success because they are going to hold an independent chair in the ministry of science as a result of separation from the field of management. He criticized some of the accountants who were against this separation and independence , then said that in the ministry of science there should be a minimum of four members who are chosen by the association, some accountants are still resisting but << trees never eat their own fruit, clouds never eat their own rain, rivers do not drink their own water , what great and remarkable people achieve and accomplish is always beneficial to others >>. Accounting is a product of human needs. The chief secretary of the Iranian accounting assocation then said that accounting should be defined within the cultural, legal, social and political environment; the products of accounting should adjust with the values of Iran. Then he added that there is no doubt that we need to use scientific outcomes from around the world and we cannot be indifferent to it, we need to become global, but this does not mean that our four main accounting association equipping themselves with other peoples information and knowledge .what we need to do is to put in line that knowledge with our own requirements. This university professor then referred to the one million graduates of accounting and the zero percent of unemployment in this field and said we have the skill and ability to become global, so we need to achieve the degree in which what is new for others would be old for us . Then said that I hope that this conference would proceed to the global financial crisis and transparency alongside its chosen topics. He continued that transparency in brief has been explained repeatedly but in our culture, we should insert boundaries, which means transparency does not mean giving every bit and detail of information. The secretary of the conference then explained the objectives and the perspective of the accounting association in year 88 which were : creating branches in three center provinces , setting up the first scientific contest in which the BA students who are successful in the contest can go to the MA level with out an entrance examination , financial and mental support for twenty scientific societies through out the country , granting a permit meant for a scientific publication to a university , membership of the society in two official and international organs and creating branches abroad . |
